I did it. I have finally made the decision to purchase my own domain name! This has been on my mind for some time now, and carsonkunnen.com is finally a reality. I plan on using this blog to provide professional updates to my friends, family, co-workers, and potential employers. If you wish to contact me, or see some of my work visit the respective menu tabs!
The goal of this blog is to introduce you to Carson Kunnen. Who is Carson? What is Carson like? How would Carson conduct himself in my work environment? Is he introverted or extroverted? Is he personable? Is he a talker or a thinker, or both? I have answers to all of these questions.
Authenticity is extremely important to me. Not only do I strive to conduct myself in an authentic, genuine manner, but I desire to have the motivations behind my work be genuine. Throughout this blog, I will strive to be who I am, and not fake it. If I could describe myself in a few keywords it would be as follows: personable, motivated, faithful, loyal, and compassionate.
I am a team player, I love working on teams. Most of the projects that are found on my portfolio have been group oriented. I thrive bouncing ideas off of people, taking the lead on group projects, and cultivating community within teams. I want to value the people more than the work they produce. Having been on several teams, there have been experiences where the work is valued over the people, and I disagree with this. People are more valuable than their work output.
Before we finish up, I did a little bit of research and found some ‘personality interview questions’ (link to source):
- If you could change one thing about your personality, what would it be? Slow it down. I am often always on-the-go doing multiple tasks, activities and meetings throughout the day. I need to relax, enjoy where I am, and be comfortable with where God has me.
- What hobbies or sports are you involved with outside of work, and why do you enjoy them? I absolutely LOVE coin collecting. My grandpa got me started in coin collecting when I was 8 years old and I have been collecting on and off since then. The earliest coins that I have are a 1886 Indian head penny and 1904 Mercury head dime.
- What drives you in your professional life? Short answer: my faith and desire to provide for my family someday. My faith is extremely important to me, and I want to be able to glorify God in my professional life.
- What makes you unique? I love people. I love interacting with people, hearing people’s stories, and engaging in their lives. I also try to get to know those who I work with out of a genuine, humble attitude.
If you’ve made it this far — thank you! Whatever your purpose for reading this blog, I hope you learned more about Carson Kunnen.
